Mastichári (gr .: Μαστιχάρι) is located approximately at the height of Antimachia up on the north coast of Kos. The small village with about 500 inhabitants used to live mainly from fishing, today it is also important as a port for the ferry service to the island of Kalymnos. The shortest connection and therefore the fastest ferry connection to the neighboring island starts from the port of Mastichári, ferries depart from here several times a day.
There are some very good fish restaurants directly at the harbor, also next to the harbor a beautiful long sandy beach begins. At the other end of the beach remains of an early christian basilica, Agios Ioannis can be found.
