The village of Antimachia is located close to the airport of Kos on a flat plateau 23km southwest of Kos city and 4km south of Mastichari. Antimachia has a long, over 3000 year long history. Antimachia has a number of attractions, the most famous being a traditional farmhouse from the early 10th century and a traditional windmill directly opposite.
About 4km north-east towards Kardamena another important sight, the Fortress Antimachia is situated, the ruins of a 14th-century fortress of St. John.
