Kos never ceases to amaze me - with its beauty and diversity, and the wonderful hospitality of its people. But the island also offers puzzles that can sometimes take years to solve. You like the search for the Piso Thermi, that mysterious thermal spring that is shown on numerous maps, but of which few seem to know where it really is and even fewer how to reach it.
I found a great blog entry about it here, but even if the place was found, there is hardly any information about the source there either. So the search goes a little further.
But that's not all, there are said to be numerous thermal springs in Kos, the main ones being :
- Thermal spring of Agios Fokas, known as Embros Therme (approx. 47°C)
- Thermal spring Agia Irini, the aforementioned Piso Thermi (approx. 45°C)
- Thermal spring Kokkinonero (22.5°C)
- Volkanon Hot Spring (mud water)
The latter two are said to be west of the Asklepieion of Kos, but unfortunately I have not been able to determine the exact location so far. If anyone knows where they are exactly I would appreciate an email!
